Incursion: The Great Zamboni Start time: 10m Zamboni infuses his exhilarating magic with crazy comedy, audience participation, and delightful illusions. With his warm sense of humour, contemporary approach and highly skilled traditional techniques, Zamboni takes audiences on a journey of amazement and laughter. Much of the magic is performed by the audience members themselves, from miraculous escapes to dramatic metamorphoses, leaving even Zamboni bewildered. Zamboni is a talented balloon modeller, twisting marvellous creations from unicorns to crazy hats to mermaids in a myriad of vibrant colours. |
Tuesday 16 April |
Excursion: Yarralumla Play Station Departure time: 10.30am Start time: 11am. Children will have a ride on the famous train and will visit the farm where they will get to see ponies, sheep, alpacas, goats, ducks, geese, turkeys, a variety of chicken, birds, miniature pigs and cows. Children will be shown how to safely interact with the animals and they will be given an opportunity to feed the animals. |
Wednesday 17 April |
Excursion: National Arboretum Canberra-Kite Making Departure time: 10am Start time: 10.30am Children will get to assemble, decorate and fly their own kite on the grassy amphitheatre at one of Canberra’s most scenic locations. Children take their kites with them to fly again. |
Thursday 18 April |
In-centre day: Mini Olympics Start time: 10.30am Children will engage in fun and friendly competitions inspired by the Olympic games. They will participate in various challenges such as egg and spoon race, three-legged race, sack race and skipping. |
Friday 19 April |
Incursion: Koori Kinnections Start time: 10.30am Children will learn about Aboriginal cultures, history, the environment, animals, plants, shelter, tools, weapons, and sustainability through a hands-on learning experience. Children will also get to play traditional Aboriginal Games, face painting with ochre and each child will construct a small hand size canoe (Nawi) using native plants that they can take home. |
