First-class facilities on campus

Located in the leafy inner Canberra suburb of Deakin, Canberra Girls Grammar School spreads across two campuses and has a multi-purpose facility on the shores of Lake Burley Griffin. Over 10 hectares in size, the School features an indoor heated swimming pool, gymnasiums, sports courts, playing fields and purpose-built buildings for science, the performing arts, design and textiles, and ICT. Each of the campuses also host a well-resourced Library to cover our students' needs.

The School's multi-purpose, flexible learning space - known as Yhuuramulum - sits alongside the Elizabeth McKay Aquatic Centre at Lake Burley Griffin. The facility is used for educational and engagement purposes and hosts a range of our curricular activities, including rowing, sailing and road-safety training. The School's location provides students and their families with easy access to the airport, road and rail transportation.

Early Learning Centre

The award-winning Early Learning Centre's original building at Canberra Girls Grammar School was originally designed by Daryl Jackson Alastair Swayn. The expansion of the facilities in 2018, received the Derek Wrigley Award for Sustainable Architecture and the Award for Educational Architecture at the 2019 ACT Architecture Awards.

This beautiful and colourful space – featuring a big, bright yellow, two-story slippery dip – provides the perfect environment for curious and energetic young minds. Dynamic set-up classrooms with light-timber paneled walls and flexible learning areas offer teachers and students the perfect space to explore the curriculum.

Junior School

Located a few doors down from the Prime Minister's official residence, the Lodge, our Junior School campus is a lively and vibrant space where students learn both, inside and outside the classroom. Students and staff gather at Clements Hall, a multi-purpose facility, for regular assemblies and special performances. The campus has an internal courtyard surrounded by luscious gardens and some play structures for the younger students.

The campus also features a large playground area, where students run and play, as well as look after the veggie garden. Students practice a range of sports and co-curricular activities in the outdoor tennis and netball courts, indoor basketball courts and a fully-equipped gymnasium.
