Junior School library
The Junior School Library supports the educational and recreational interests of students and staff from the Early Learning Centre to Year 6. The Library is staffed by a qualified Teacher Librarian and a Library technician. Students from Pre-kindergarten to Year 6 have weekly borrowing sessions, with a focus on reading promotion and developing our students as lifelong readers. Loans are for two weeks, with open access to the collection so that students and their parents can borrow as frequently as they would like.

Information Literacy and Digital Citizenship Skills

Students from Prep - Year 6 have regular library lessons planned collaboratively with class teachers as a partnership in the teaching and learning of the Units of Inquiry involved in the Primary Years Programme and Middle Years Programme. These lessons focus on developing:

  • News and media literacy

Before School hours: 8.15am - 8.45am

Students are welcome into the Library before school when accompanied by a parent for shared reading and borrowing.

School hours: 8.45am - 3.20pm

The Library is open throughout the day for lessons and is utilised by a range of staff and students for a variety of purposes.

The Library is closed during recess but is open to students every lunchtime (1:45-2:15) for recreational activities.

After School hours: 3.20pm - 3.45pm, Tuesday - Thursday (Closed Monday afternoons)

Students are welcome into the Library after school when accompanied by a parent for shared reading and borrowing.

The Library is also used after school for a variety of co-curricular activities including robotics, coding, and chess.

Senior School Library
The Senior School Library was refurbished in 2022 to provide students with a modern collaborative, learning and research space. The Library is a vibrant and inclusive learning space, and supports the educational and recreational interests of students and staff from Years 7 to 12. The Library is staffed by a qualified Teacher Librarian and a Library technician. The Library has a wide-ranging collection of books, audio-visual material and equipment for loan that support the curriculum. The Senior School Library also features a textbook-hire service, provides advice on referencing, correct citation and research skills, and offers access to a range of online databases.

Online catalogue and databases

The Library subscribes to a number of databases that cater to the learning needs of our school community. These include Britannica, Infobase and Gale databases. Students also have access to eBooks for research and reading for leisure. All of these resources, as well as the Library catalogue, are available via the Library website.

The Senior School Library is open 8.00am to 6.00pm, Monday to Friday during the school term.

The Library is supervised by library assistants after school. Mathematics and English teachers also provide tutoring in the Library one afternoon a week. In addition to this service, the School also offers an Evening Study Program for Year 8-12 students at the Library. This program allows students to complete homework and assessment preparation in a supervised environment, helping students develop healthy student habits.
